Like every year for the first advent, my husband and I will decorate the Christmas tree together this weekend and festively decorate the apartment. On days like these, we have an informal meal like this Low Carb Winter Vegetable with Oven Cheese , which is guaranteed to please the whole family. The beauty of this delicious winter meal is that everyone at the table can choose their favorite ingredients and dip them in creamy oven cheese.
Our Christmas Ritual
I'm always looking forward to our little Christmas ritual for the first Advent , Decorate and decorate, a cup of mulled wine, cozy socks and Christmas music. By the way, my favorite Christmas music CD is Everything becomes white by Johannes Stankowski. Super beautiful children's and family songs over winter, Christmas and New Year.
Our son Tom will be the first to witness Christmas this year for the first time. He is allowed to open the first door of his Advent calendar and decorate his room with colorful window pictures and fairy lights. I'm really looking forward to how she likes it, the cozy Christmas time. Already he is quite impressed with all the twinkling lights on the neighboring windows and the decorated fir trees in the city.
Low Carb Winter Vegetables with Oven Cheese
For our this year's Advent dinner I put together my favorite winter vegetables. Brussels sprouts, carrots, fennel and sweet potatoes. The oven-baked vegetables include creamy ROUGETTE oven cheese for dipping and a delicious honey-mustard dressing. I especially like oven cheese. It's quick to prepare and ideal for winter family meals and getting ready for the Advent season.
My son is a real cheese fan and loves the creamy-mild taste of the oven cheese especially for baked carrots and sweet potatoes. The cheese tastes really good with baguettes, colorful winter salads or baked vegetables. And best of all, oven cheese is quick to prepare, totally convertible and even suitable for low carb. :) Even though I could not believe it at first.

The delicious winter vegetables with oven cheese and delicious Honey mustard dressing is quick and delicious for the whole family.Remove the Brussels sprouts from the stalk and cut in half. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes. Peel and quarter the onion. Cut off the green stems from the fennel. Then halve, free from the stub, and cut into columns.
Put the vegetables in a bowl and mix with olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary. Now put on a sheet of baking paper. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Turn the vegetables once. Place the oven cheese in the wooden box between the vegetables and bake for 10 minutes. Then remove the oven cheese from the oven, cut the surface in a cross shape and open the cheese corners. Put again between the oven vegetables. Bake the vegetables and cheese for another 10 minutes until the cheese has melted from the inside.
Mix a dressing with olive oil, cider vinegar, honey, mustard, salt and pepper. Serve the oven cheese and the winter vegetables with the dressing.
The recipe ranges from the set for 2 adults and 2 children. For a delicious winter meal, a fresh baguette or a mixed salad will fit.
Enjoy the delicious winter vegetables with oven cheese and have a wonderful Advent season! Do you already know my Christmas category on the blog? In addition to sweet biscuits, you will also find many other hearty ideas for the best time of the year.
